Take Time for....

Mr. Peale had lunch with a long time friend and started the conversation about a man he had met who siad that "it was impossible to be happy anymore."   His longtime friend reached into his pocket and pulled out a card.  This is what is said:

1. Take Time to Laugh:  It is music of the soul.
2. Take Time to Play: It is the source of perpetual youth.
3. Take Time to Pray:  It is the greatest power on Earth.
4. Take Time to Love and be Loved:  It is a God given priviledge.
5. Take Time to be friendly:  It is the road to happiness.
6. Take Time to Give:  It is too short a day to be selfish.

 Norman added one last one:

•   Take Time for God:  It is the way to Life.

Life Lifter - Keep up the Enthusiasm

Years ago, Mr. Peale shares these thoughts:

Cushion the painful effects of hard blows by keeping enthusiasm going strong, even if doing so requires struggle.  The Bible knows the score, the facts of life , so much better than any cynic.  The tough-minded optimist views any problem as a challenge to his intelligence, ingenuity, and faith.  He keeps on thinking, praying, and believing.  He knows there is a solution and so he finally finds it."
